Experience

I currently have a teacher's certification from the Association of Christian Schools International. I also acquired my bachelor's degree in church and family ministries. When I am not studying or helping my students, I do some work for Mary Pride's Practical Homeschooling magazine. While working for the magazine, I have gained experience in both editing work and writing my very own column. As far as tutoring goes, I have worked with a variety of students in a variety of different settings and environments. I have worked in classroom settings, group settings, and one-on-one settings. Currently, I offer my tutoring services in phonics, fluency, English, comprehension, science, philosophy, literature, and biblical worldviews. I have many education credits in a number of studies. I have credits in child development, social studies, math, language arts, reading, children's literature, science, and classroom observation. These are just a few of the credits I have acquired over the years. As for my teaching style, I like to make learning easier, exciting, and challenging for my students. I understand that no two students are the same. Because of this, I tailor each lesson plan in hopes that it will fit the individual I am working with. I currently reside in Whitehall, Ohio, where I enjoy gardening, camping, and bike riding. I am also a published author and a lover of books.
